Hello again…
I hope you are all doing well in 2009 so far and enjoying yourselves. Not only is February a great month for having an excuse for eating pancakes on Pancake day and chocolates on Valentines day, but we also have some great opportunities for you to make the best of. Remember to tell all your friends to join the Plymouth Young Chamber, there’s plenty of room! We are going to start running regular competitions, with great prizes such as another iPod Nano and a photo shoot, so watch this space!

Plymouth Gin – Thursday 6th February
Finally, the long awaited question and answer session with Richard Smith from the Plymouth Gin Distillery has arrived. Plymouth Gin has been crafted from 7 hand selected botanicals, Dartmoor water and pure grain alcohol at Black Friars Distiller since 1793.
The Q&A will be at the Plymouth Chamber with a 4pm start with, of course, free juice and biscuits!

Business Tour of the month
This month we have the joy of visiting Martin Luck, who, at the age of 28, started his own business, which is now rated as one of the top suppliers of office supplies, print and interiors in the UK. Now with over 100 members of staff across 3 sites (Plymouth, Helston and Newbury) Martin’s business has a turnover in excess of £10million. Martin has created and owns one of the largest businesses in his sector! This premises tour would be a great chance, for anyone thinking of starting their own business one day, to come and ask any questions about the ups and downs of owning your own business. The tour will be at 4pm at the Langage Park, lasting about 1hour.

Members Meet…
February’s members meet will have a 4pm start the Plymouth Chamber (See www.plymouthyoungchamber.co.uk for directions) on Wednesday 25th. If it entices you more, there will be juice and biscuits!

And Next Month…
March will be premises tour of the Una Group at the Airport Business Centre and MooFu. Should be a good one!
